In a skillet, cook 1 lb of ground beef (or turkey) over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
In a bowl, mix together 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tbsp of tomato paste, 2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp of brown sugar, 1 tsp of mustard, 1 tsp of garlic powder, and 1/2 tsp of onion powder.
Add the cooked meat to the crockpot. Pour the prepared sauce mixture over it.
Set the crockpot to low heat and cook for 4-6 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Every hour or so, stir the mixture to ensure even cooking and flavor distribution.
About 10 minutes before serving, toast hamburger buns in the oven or on a skillet for extra crunch.
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the toasted buns, and you’re ready to enjoy a tasty, homemade dinner!
